Voice. Individual Lessons

Each individual voice is unique. Each person’s relationship to his or her voice is very individual. Understanding and supporting each individual voice and learning about the intrinsic connections between the physiology and emotional life of the voice is the first step.

From this place of support (and fun), and depending on what is needed, a somatic approach might include hands-on work for alignment or muscular tension issues using the Alexander Technique, Body Mind Centering or Laban/Bartenieff Movement exercises.

If emotional issues are present, therapeutic explorations will be part of the process. Vocal exercises will include gestures or movements to bring attention to how the whole body is part of the sounding mechanism. Beginners and experienced vocalizers are all welcome!
